Rooted in Resilience: Helping Children Grow Through Stress and Change
Carolina Enriquez, Kelsey Caple, Jessica Wilson of Rooted Pathways Counseling
Kids today are growing up in a world that moves fast and often feels uncertain. With so much change and pressure around them, it is no surprise that big emotions and behavior shifts show up at home. Grounded in trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and nervous system regulation, this session focuses on what children actually need most when life feels overwhelming: safety, connection, steady support, and predictable structure. Caregivers will learn why children react the way they do under stress and how simple shifts in adult responses can make a powerful difference. Together, we will explore realistic strategies to help children manage big feelings, adapt to change, and build resilience over time. Participants will also practice a few nervous system based tools that support both children and adults in staying calm and connected. This workshop is not about being a perfect parent or caregiver. It is about understanding what is happening beneath the behavior and walking away with tools you can use right away. When children feel safe and supported, they grow stronger roots — and those roots help them navigate whatever comes next.
