Growing Together: Everyday Ways to Support Your Child’s Healthy Development
Sarah Isaacs
Young children learn and grow through everyday experiences with the people who care for them most. This interactive workshop is designed for families and caregivers of young children and focuses on simple, practical ways to support healthy early childhood development during daily routines. Participants will explore how activities like playtime, mealtime, reading, and conversations can strengthen language, social-emotional skills, and learning. The workshop will share resources from the Illinois Early Intervention Clearinghouse, a statewide library and website that provides information about how to recognize developmental milestones, identify possible developmental concerns, and understand when and how to seek support.
Families will leave with practical strategies, helpful resources, and greater confidence to support their child’s growth during everyday moments while also knowing where to turn if they have questions about their child’s development.
The workshop will share easy strategies that caregivers can use at home to create nurturing environments, encourage curiosity, and build strong relationships that help children thrive. Families will leave with practical ideas, resources, and confidence to support their child’s development in meaningful, everyday moments.
